DVD95182 HMS Pinafore Proms 2005
The radio broadcast of this concert was posted in message 5961 but as far as I
can find the telecast has not been shared here. I'm afraid my copy does not have
the best picture quality, due to it having been broadcast when I was staying in
holiday cottage in the wilds of Herefordshire in August 2005 which had only a
video recorder and not very good TV reception! Therefore if anyone has a better
quality copy and wants to post feel free to do so.

The concert began with The Yeoman Of The Guard Overture and the Pineapple Poll
Suite but these were not included in the telecast.
Transferred from VHS to DVD fairly soon after broadcast. I put it onto a DVD
with several other bits and pieces, which I have not uploaded here, and
therefore the DVD title menu lists several titles, only the first one of which
has anything in. I have checked & these VOBs do burn to DVD okay without the
other contents of the DVD. I was going to try to retransfer the video to DVD on
its own but, as those who read the technical group will have seen, I couldn't
get the tape to give a stable playback so have had to stick with what I've got.
To my eyes/ears the sound quality is good but the picture quality only fair.
PAL VOBs
Audio 256kbps, stereo
Video 2000kbps, 352x576 according to the file properties but to me it looks like
the standard 768x576
Total size c. 1.7GB, split into c. 250 MB parts.
I'm afraid that I don't know how to offer a video sample of a VOB so the best I
can suggest is to download the first part and take off the .001 file extension
which will then give you a playable part of a VOB.
