This is very helpful. I located the following on the web:  Der Bariton Elmar Andree wurde in Altlandsberg bei Berlin geboren. Er studierte an der Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“ in Berlin bei Dr. Friedrich Eckardt, nahm an Meisterkursen bei Peter Schreier, Joseph Metternich und Hans Hotter teil und erhielt Stipendien vom Richard-Wagner-Verein und der Europäischen Union.  Während des Studiums gewann er den 1. Preis des Dvorakwettbewerbs 1989 in Karlsbad und war 1991 Preisträger beim Opernsängerwettbewerb in Gera.  Noch vor Ende seiner Ausbildung debütierte er in der Titelrolle der Oper „Die Hochzeit des Figaro“ an der Komischen Oper Berlin. Dorthin wurde er auch parallel zu seinem letzten Studienjahr fest engagiert. Als Figaro und als Schaunard in „La Bohéme“ war er an der Japantournee der Komischen Oper 1991 beteiligt.
